What is a "Tintamarre"?
The simple explanation is: Make noise to demonstrate your Acadian pride!
This Acadian tradition takes place on the day celebrating "La Journée nationale de l'Acadie" on August 15th. People dress in Acadian colors; blue, white and red with a little bit of yellow, and make noise by means of drums, bells, trumpets or any other sound making object. All are welcome to join the celebrations and participate in them. Acadian music, dances and a joyous mood will definitely be part of the celebrations!
