The 2023 Cross Country New Brunswick (SFNB) Loppet Series consists of four (4) events which will take place in New Brunswick between February and March.
A Loppet is a large gathering of skiers who compete in classic style or freestyle (skate) skiing over different distances. The Loppet means different things to participants. The Bathurst Snow Bear Cross Country Ski Club invites you to participate in the 2023 edition of the annual Bathurst Loppet. The Loppet is on February 5, at 1015 rue St-Anne, (exit 308 Route 11) behind the Compagnie Rivière Nepisiguit store. Registration is done online at Zone4.ca starting back on February 6. For those who are already registered but cannot participate on March 12th, please contact Julie Daigle bathurstski@gmail.com. If you are still participating, your name remains on the confirmation list.
The Bathurst Loppet is part of Cross Country New Brunswick's Loppet Series and will be free style, so bring your classic style skis or skates! Skiers of all levels are welcome and can choose from distances of 1km (for the little ones), 3km, 6km, 8km, 16km and 24km. The small loops are ideal for beginner skiers and families. Larger loops include more challenging terrain and require better physical condition. So, despite the emphasis being on fun and participation, the most competitive can have a great time in our course!
A surprise is given to participants finishing the races and a lunch is offered at the KC Irving Regional Center at around 1 p.m. with door prizes.
The Bathurst Loppet is a great opportunity to enjoy a beautiful winter day!
